When an engaged couple begin discussing their wedding day, one of the first questions to ask is “where will we get married and when?”
In New South Wales, there are so many places to choose from. Some of the more popular options are:
Each location has its pros and cons which we’ll discuss below to help both bride and groom as they look for the best affordable wedding videography and photography packages to shoot in these great locations.
At Honeybear Films, we’ve done hundreds of wedding films and photos at the locations below. With those experiences in mind, here are our opinions on the best spots in NSW to have your wedding.
1. Sydney CBD
This is an easy location for everyone to get to. There are plenty of hotels in the area so guest accomodation won’t be an issue. You can get photos with all the iconic landmarks including The Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour and that’s just the locations in the CBD. You’ve also got access to all the beautiful spots on the North Shore from Taronga Zoo to Sergeants Mess. You will have a plethora of choices for places to get spectacular images and films especially with a seasoned Sydney wedding videographer to do the shooting . However, because it’s such a popular area all of these landmarks have been photographed before so in the end your photos and videos won’t be very unique.
2. Hunter Valley
With so many venues and unique places to choose from, Hunter Valley makes a great location for a party. Plus, the best wine in the world is definitely a plus. You have beautiful vines to take photos and videos in and the overall feel of the day will be relaxed and fun. However, it can be a long way to travel for guests and accommodation can be a bit expensive
3. The Southern Highlands (Bowral, Berrima and Sutton Forest)
Another in-demand district providing a ton of variety for venues. With so many vintage properties to choose and the best light for photos and videos in the country this is the perfect place for a vintage style wedding. It can get very cold during winter, but nonetheless Bowral and The Southern Highlands are a rich source of natural beauty where you’ll end up with the most spectacular wedding videos. You can choose from the lush forests, majestic mountains, and even visit Bradman Oval if you’re a cricket nut.. Best of all, it’s just a short distance from Sydney making it easy for your guests and Sydney wedding photography and videography team to go to.
4. The South Coast (Wollongong, Kiama, Berry, Kangaroo Valley)
There are so many indoor and outdoor locations available in Wollongong. It’s a great place to choose if you’re after a relaxed, beachy vibe. But do keep in mind that not all venues were strictly meant for weddings so they don’t always have the best look. This can be easily solved by finding the right place and matching it with an amazing stylist to decorate it just to your liking, turning it into the perfect wedding location for your day.
5. The Central Coast
Similar to The South Coast, The Central Coast has an array of beautiful beaches to hold your wedding and reception at. With the added benefit of being a bit warmer than down south. Depending on how far up the coast you go it can be hard for guests to travel and find accomodation though.
6. The Blue Mountains
The stilted breath he takes when she walks down the aisle.
The peace on her face when she rests her head on his shoulder.
The silence of the world when they kiss.
Unseen by the eye, captured by film.
